Learning Italian in Tuscany
The Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo, founded in 1981, was one of the first Italian language schools in Italy and in Tuscany. Italian language courses for foreigners are offered for semester or summer study abroad programs. Intensive courses and individual tutoring are also offered as well as cooking, wine and art classes.
ILM uses a teaching methodology that is based on the active and constant use of the language, as well as concentrating on the four language skills: speaking, listening comprehension, reading and writing. The teachers focus on personal participation and continuous interaction.
Modern teaching methods, professional organization, a specialized team of teachers and a relaxed relationship between teachers and students guarantee good progress in a short time.
Classes are held in Pisa (all the year) and Viareggio (in the summer). Pisa and Viareggio are medium-sized towns, where it is still possible to meet true Italians, with their customs and way of life that are typical of our culture, and put into practice in real-life situations the linguistic structures and forms learnt in class.
